It All Begins HereA Small Piece of Ucluelet History
A warm welcome to the Inklands community!
This coloring page is inspired by a photograph of Ucluelet in the 1970s, generously shared by a local resident who believed in the coloring book project that started it all.
At the time, I saw it as someone supporting an idea. Looking back, it became something much more meaningful.
The photograph wasn't just an old image—it was a memory. A reminder that places leave a lasting impression on us. The beaches we walked, the streets we explored, the views we grew up with, and the moments we shared all become part of our story.
When this photo was shared with me, it reinforced something I've come to believe deeply: people care about places. Not because they're famous or beautiful, but because they're meaningful. A single photograph can bring back memories from decades ago. A familiar street can transport us to another time in our lives. Places connect us to experiences, people, and moments that matter.
That idea eventually became the foundation of Inklands.
This coloring page is my way of sharing a small piece of that history with you. I've reimagined the original photograph as a coloring page, allowing you to slow down, spend time with the scene, and perhaps reflect on the places that have shaped your own memories.
Inklands was created to celebrate the places that stay with us long after we've left them. Through coloring, we can revisit destinations we've loved, discover places we've never been, and preserve the memories that make them special.
I hope you enjoy coloring this small piece of Ucluelet's story—and perhaps reflecting on a few of your own along the way.
Happy coloring,
